The mission of Mabel T. Caverly Senior Center is to provide social, recreational and/or emotional support to elderly persons in the Anchorage area. Mabel T. Caverly Senior Center emphasizes seeking out individuals who are 55+ to join the membership. They are normally the elderly, frail, of low income or from a minority classification. Our additional mission is to identify the needs of older persons, to plan and promote programs to meet those needs and to provide for a range of services that directly affect the well-being of those who desire those services. We additionally provide information, referral and outreach as a parts of our needs identification process.
Services is our Van Transportation Program are available three days a week for shopping, medical appointments and running errands. Schedule your ride today by calling 907-276-1517.
Grants up to $900 are available to senior residents of Anchorage who are age 55 and older, who meet certain criteria and who do not have insurance coverage for dental work.
Anchorage Senior Friendly Project
Our newest program allows local businesses to join the ever growing movement to capture the senior consumer market. Membership in this program promotes senior friendly practices.
When grants are available, qualified senior residents of Anchorage may qualify for emergency funds to cover rent, utilities, auto and home repairs. Bus passes are also available.
